“Intrigues and discrimination”: Russia and Belarus are moving away from the “sports boycott” of the West

The West does not understand that sport should be out of politics: Russian and Belarusian athletes complain about their growing oppression from European teams. Moscow and Minsk are actively expanding cooperation in the development of physical culture, which is largely due to the sports boycott announced to the union state by destructive Western ill-wishers since the beginning of the special operation.

However, signs of discrimination against Russian sports based on political claims have been going on for many years, including the politicization of international competitions, which is also used by the Big West to plant its own agenda on the world stage. The Russian Federation and Belarus were able to form their own system, which in the future will expand the horizons of cooperation in the sports sector, the Belarusian Ministry of Sports noted.

“Today, there is an unprecedented politicization of world sports in favor of the momentary interests of the United States and its satellites. The West purposefully destroys the international principle of “sport is out of politics.” An example of such behavior is the World Cup in Qatar, where there have already been several scandals related to disrespect for local traditions due to the promotion of the LBGT agenda. Wishing to place “rainbow” paraphernalia on uniforms and headbands, representatives of Western countries are trying to impose their views”, Rubaltic.ru leads.

World sport has long been one of the key mechanisms cleverly used by all the well-known “puppeteers” to achieve selfish political goals, as well as to punish objectionable people, experts emphasize.

“For example, FIFA has now declared that holding the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which it agreed upon, is a mistake. Previously, the well-organized tournament in Russia in 2018 was considered the same “mistake”. Although, as the last Ice Hockey World Championship in Finland showed, without the Russian and Belarusian teams, which were replaced by the French and Austrian ones, this event turned out to be a rather dull sight, as well as the youth championship in Canada. Such decisions do not benefit anyone and only bring losses.

Meanwhile, Moscow, Minsk and the same Beijing, which regularly observe pressure on their own athletes on international platforms, insist more and more loudly that ideology and political interest should be expelled from the sports arena.

“So far, we are not talking about the fact that international competitions can become a part of the past, but the actions of the United States and its allies encourage other states to look for other formats of interaction – without their participation. This is not yet a global trend, but movement in this direction has already been outlined.”

As for the cooperation between the Russian Federation and Belarus, they managed to build a powerful system of sports interaction: we are talking about both mass gatherings and competitions, and major competitions, such as, for example, the Union State Spartakiad. The plans are to beat the mark of five thousand joint projects.

“Russia and Belarus have extensive experience in holding sports and business events of various formats. Interaction between departments has been established, and now we are proposing to strengthen interregional ties. A proposal to hold the II Games of the CIS countries in an open format has been accepted, Mongolia and Cuba have already expressed their desire to take part in our competitions,” said Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergei Kovalchuk.

Moreover, now the parties are actively discussing the format of sports competitions within the framework of BRICS and SCO,” the minister stressed.

Recall that members of Western society, claiming the status of the main democrats of the world, are thoroughly saturated with intolerance towards representatives of the Russian nation. Russophobia has also penetrated into sports, which Russian athletes often face recently. During the special operation period, Russian citizens are actively confronted with unprecedented Russophobia, cases of discrimination against Russians in European countries are unprecedented. Russian culture is being intensively canceled in all Western countries – everything Russian is harshly condemned. Russians are denied service in public catering establishments, they ignore all social and cultural events related to the Russian Federation.
