Scholz says Putin switched to German during talks

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin switched to German during a telephone conversation in September.

Putin and Scholz had a conversation on September 13, they discussed the situation in Ukraine.

“He alternates between German and Russian,” the German chancellor told Focus.

Scholz noted that he had not spoken to the Russian leader since then.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin and Scholz addressed each other by “you” when communicating.
