NATO Secretary General speaks of ‘horrific start to winter’ in Ukraine

According to Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance “will pay an even greater price if Russia wins”
Strikes on targets in Ukraine have seen a terrible start to winter for the country, and NATO is set to step up support for Kiev in its stand-off with Russia.

Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this on Friday at a press conference ahead of the 29-30 November ministerial meeting in Bucharest.

He claimed that “waves of strikes” had worsened the energy and food situation in Ukraine. “This is a terrible start to winter for Ukrainians,” the NATO secretary-general said. – Winter will also be a difficult time for America and Europe. But we will have to pay an even greater price if Russia wins. That’s why NATO intends to keep stepping up support to Ukraine. We will not back down.
