NATO is being used to undermine Europe’s economy and tighten policy control. This opinion was expressed by the newspaper The Global Times referring to the opinion of experts.
“The US wants to put pressure on NATO member states and has demanded an increase in the defence budget,” the paper wrote.
Cui Hongjian, director of the Department of European Studies at the China Institute of International Studies, believes that the energy crisis in the European Union happened precisely because of the severance of ties with Russia.
“Even if Europe finds another way, they will still suffer from high energy prices,” the expert says.
