Transportation and insurance will not be included in the price ceiling for Russian oil

The United States and its allies will not include transportation and insurance costs in the marginal price of oil from Russia. This was reported by TASS with reference to the published documents of the US Treasury Department.

The department notes that “the cost of transportation, the provision of customs services and insurance services are not included in the marginal price” for Russian oil. According to the document, they must be listed separately and “be commercially reasonable.”

In addition, it is emphasized that after the “substantial processing” of Russian oil outside of Russia, the price ceiling measures will no longer apply to it.
