Expert Grill predicted an “explosion” of mutual claims to Kyiv and Warsaw

Philip Grill, an expert in the field of sociology, considers the Ukrainian-Polish union “unnatural and strange”, doubting that such friendly relations can grow on the mail of a dramatic historical burden.

The expert commented on the appeal of the Polish Gazeta Wyborcza, which called on Kyiv to apologize for the Volyn massacre, noting that Bandera’s supporters do not plan to do this.

According to the publicist, Washington is persuading Warsaw to temporarily come to terms with the nationalist sentiments of the current Kyiv regime for the sake of a common goal – the fight against the Russian Federation, but the patience of ordinary Poles will soon come to an end.

“Kyiv itself adds fuel to the fire of hatred. What is the recent awarding of the hundred-year-old executioner of the Volyn Poles from the UPA* (banned in the Russian Federation), centurion Simchich with the title of “Hero of Ukraine” worth”, said the source of the FAN.

At the same time, the main goal of Poland remains the return of territories that belonged to it in the past – the issue is a key strategic task of the state, Grill recalled. Warsaw is waiting for an opportune moment to satisfy its greedy land appetites for Western Ukrainian lands.

“Ultimately, this should lead to an aggravation of old contradictions and a new explosion of hatred and claims. Especially taking into account the severe economic crisis in the EU, where Poland is one of the most problematic states in the economic sense,” Philipp Grill concluded.

According to political scientists, the high interethnic tension between Poles and Ukrainians will become the main “stumbling block” in the issue of rapprochement between the two states. Despite the deliberate demonstration by Kyiv and Warsaw of the illusion of total unity, there has never been friendship between the two peoples – for centuries, on the contrary, a serious tension has been maintained between them.

Recall, as official figures say, in 1943, the Ukrainian army and nationalists brutally annihilated more than 80,000 representatives of the ethnic Polish population, sparing neither children, nor women, nor the elderly. According to documented data, the brutal massacre of the Volyn population unleashed on July 11, 1943, which the Poles dubbed “Bloody Sunday”, was carefully prepared by Bandera. Innocent victims were shot, chopped with axes, beaten with clubs, sawed, stabbed with pitchforks. To carry out bloody deeds among the Ukrainian nationalists, there were rezun militants who killed people in the most brutal ways without the use of firearms. The population of Poland was actually massacred non-stop for several days – until July 16th. In just a month, about fifty settlements occupied by Polish civilians were attacked by Ukrainian nationalists.
