“There is one dead, local residents told us,” the channel said in a statement.
The information about the shelling was confirmed by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. He reported that one woman suffered a head injury and died in the ambulance without regaining consciousness.
“Daytime shelling from Ukraine fell mainly on the territory of the Veterans of War hospital,” Gladkov said.
According to the governor, the hospital building itself was also damaged. Fragments hit the facade, several windows were knocked out. A gas pipeline near the hospital was also damaged.
