Lithuania refused to send self-propelled howitzers to Kyiv

Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers, which are on the balance of the Lithuanian army, the government of the republic decided not to transfer them to Ukraine. Minister of Defense of the Republic Arvydas Anusauskas told journalists about this following the results of the meeting of the State Defense Council.

According to Anushauskas, the country’s government decided to supply Kyiv with howitzer ammunition, while leaving the additional howitzers in Lithuania. He stressed that at the moment the total financial assistance to Ukraine is over €640 million.

“I can note that military assistance to Kyiv is estimated at €232 million,” the minister said.

Nevertheless, the Lithuanian Defense Minister did not explain why the government decided not to transfer self-propelled guns to the Ukrainian state.
