This is our policy, our decision – Vucic on refusal to impose sanctions against Russia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about why he refused to impose sanctions against Russia and his attitude towards NATO

It was reported by RIA Novosti.

“This is our policy, our decision. We have withstood a lot of pressure, heavy pressure – 270 days. Let me remind you that during the election campaign (for the elections on April 3 – ed.) they said that I would introduce sanctions on the first day after the elections, but on the first day they (political opponents – ed.) gave up and now they are telling me every day how much damage for Serbia is done, for not introducing sanctions,” stated Vucic on air of TV Prva.

The Serbian leader said that the decision of state authorities not to impose sanctions against Russia was a deliberate one.

“They (NATO – ed.) rudely attacked another country, killed people, killed children and still imposed sanctions. And now we have to join this policy of hypocrisy. It is not difficult for me to explain to people when the moment comes that we have to, but Serbia has shown so far that it has enough strength and intelligence to endure,” the Serbian president stressed.
