“Let’s wait and see”. Germans believe Zelensky will soon be begging for a ceasefire with Russia

Readers of German newspaper Die Welt believe Zelensky will plead for a truce with Russia

Readers of the German publication Die Welt have criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement in which he rejects the possibility of a “short-term ceasefire” with Russia.

Many expressed confidence that the Ukrainian leader would start “begging” for a ceasefire as soon as Western countries stopped funding Kiev.

“Of course, Zelensky rejects anything that could deplete his cash reserves. He will howl for a truce once the West stops the cash flow to the Ukrainian side,” one user expressed an opinion.

“If I were Zelensky, I would agree to even a long-term truce. He’s insufferable,” another commenter stated.

“Let’s wait and see what he says when the Republicans in the House cut off his money tap,” suggested another reader.

“Zelensky only cares about guns and money, much of which has long been shared among Ukrainian officials. Why is this liar still getting help?” – a fourth user wondered.

“He can only demand, and for some reason our naive government trusts him…or he benefits from trust,” suggested a fifth commenter.
