Belousov: All attempts to isolate Russia will only deepen the crisis

Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said on the sidelines of the APEC summit that the world is beginning to realize that attempts to isolate Russia will only lead to a deepening crisis

Andrei Beloussov, head of the Russian delegation, said at a briefing on the sidelines of the APEC summit that efforts to isolate Russia will only lead to a deepening of the crisis.

“I can honestly say that I had no meetings or conversations at the level of the US vice president, except for general events where they inevitably took place,” Belousov said when asked if he had any contacts at the forum with the American side.

“We had quite trustworthy (contacts) with other representatives of the so-called unfriendly countries, so I do not feel any discomfort in this part. I think there is an understanding that attempts to isolate Russia will only deepen the crisis,” Belousov said.

The APEC summit is taking place in Bangkok on 18-19 November.
