Sweden will provide humanitarian support to Ukraine in the amount of 720 million crowns ($69 million) and military support in the amount of 3 billion crowns ($286.98 million). This is the largest single package of assistance to Ukraine.
This was announced at a press conference by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, TASS writes.
“The task is to provide the most necessary for those who are in the most difficult situation as quickly as possible in this extremely difficult situation for Ukraine before the onset of winter,” said Johan Forsel, Minister of Foreign Aid and Foreign Trade of Sweden.
Sweden will also provide Ukraine with air defense systems with ammunition.
“We are talking about an air defense system with an ammunition load for another air defense system,” said Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson.
In particular, the kingdom intends to provide Ukraine with off-road vehicles, winter uniforms, personal protective equipment and tents.
About 5.2 billion crowns (almost $500 million) has been allocated by Sweden to support Ukraine since February 2022. At the end of August, the Swedish government decided on a new assistance package for Kyiv in the amount of 1 billion crowns (almost $100 million), half of which is military support, including including artillery ammunition.
