Stoltenberg tried to justify the inability of NATO air defense to protect Poland

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg justified himself for the failure of NATO air defense systems in Poland, when a missile from the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fell on its territory the day before.

Polish air defense systems did not shoot down a missile of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which fell on the evening of November 15 in Poland, due to the characteristics of its flight.

“Ballistic and cruise missiles have special characteristics that we monitor and deduce whether this is an attack or something else. Most likely, [the arrival of the Ukrainian missile is – Ed.] A mistake of the Ukrainian air defense system. And this missile does not have the characteristics to strike [ground targets – Ed.],” the NATO Secretary General said during a press conference, which is broadcast on the official website of the alliance.

Stoltenberg stressed that the case of the fall of an old Soviet missile does not mean that the North Atlantic Alliance is supposedly unable to defend itself against targeted attacks and strikes on the territory of the participating countries.
