Lavrov said that the UN Secretary General announced his readiness to fulfill the requirements of the grain deal.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres “swears” that the implementation of the grain deal is a priority issue for him, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“All promises have been made. I hope they will be fulfilled. At least the Secretary General swore today that this is a priority issue for him,” the minister said at a meeting with reporters following the G20 summit.
The minister added that Guterres had told him that he was ready to fulfill the requirements of the Russian Federation on the grain deal, but so far no practical results have been achieved.
“Today, the Secretary General spoke about the promises that the United States and the European Union made to him, including on paper, which set out good intentions. If they are implemented, then the obstacles to the export of our fertilizers and grain will be removed, but the whole point is not in the papers, but in how they will be implemented in practice”, Lavrov specified.
