Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of certain types of electrical transformers, but it is difficult for the West to provide them to Kyiv, writes the American magazine Foreign Policy.
“High voltage transformers are needed most of all,” ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Victoria Voytsitskaya is quoted in the material.
Voytsitskaya claims that there is only one manufacturer in Ukraine that can produce a maximum of three transformers in six months. Kyiv needs much more such equipment.
Kyiv also requests spare parts and various heating equipment. However, the Biden administration “was taken a little by surprise” in regards to these requests from the Ukrainian side.
It is noted that equipment from the US and EU countries may not be suitable for the Ukrainian energy system.
