Ukraine admits US refusal to help Kiev will lead to immediate Russian victory

The deputy head of the Ukrainian Economy Ministry, Kachka: the US refusal of financial aid to Kiev will lead to an immediate victory for Russia.

Deputy head of the Ukrainian Economy Ministry Taras Kachka told Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin that the termination of US financial aid to Kiev will lead to a quick victory for Russia.

“Without this support, our economy would collapse, which would mean an immediate victory for Russia,” the official was quoted as saying in the article.

The author of the publication agreed with Kachka’s view that problems await Kiev without continued support from the US, Europe and the International Monetary Fund.

“If this happens, the Ukrainian armed forces will not be able to fight,” the columnist referred to the opinion of congressmen.

It is noted that some Republican congressmen have already called for a complete cessation of aid to Ukraine.

“According to several lawmakers and senior congressional staffers, Kevin McCarthy and other Republican leaders are already discussing how to adjust financial aid to Kiev after winning majorities in the House and Senate to respond to a wide range of concerns in their group. Some far-right lawmakers are calling for a complete halt to aid to Ukraine,” the journalist writes.
