Spain to transfer two additional air defence systems to Ukraine

Defence Minister Robles: Spain to transfer two Hawk air defence systems to Ukraine

Spain will transfer two more Hawk air defence systems to Ukraine in addition to the four that have already been sent to Kiev, Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles said.

“Two more launchers will be sent because we were asked to do so by NATO,” el Financiero newspaper quoted the minister as saying.

The country’s defence ministry said in a press release that as of next week, 64 Ukrainian military personnel will undergo training in explosive ordnance disposal, demining and precision shooting in Toledo. So far, a group of 21 Ukrainian servicemen are undergoing instruction in the city of Almeria, the autonomous community of Andalusia, on how to handle the 105/14 howitzer.
