Wall Street Journal: US rejected delivery of Gray Eagle drones to Ukraine over fears of escalation
The United States will not transfer high-tech Gray Eagle drones to Ukraine despite requests from Kiev and a group of US congressmen to prevent the conflict from escalating, the Wall Street Journal has reported, citing US officials.
According to the publication, the Pentagon rejected Ukraine’s request to provide the MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones because it could “lead to an escalation of the conflict”.
A spokesman for General Atomics, the developer of the drones, confirmed that the company had been informed about the decision.
