The predicted recession in Ukraine turned out to be even more dramatic than expected. This is reported by Die Zeit, citing Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko
According to Sviridenko, the GDP decline in Ukraine will be even higher than previously expected. At the moment, it is projected at 39 percent instead of the previous 35 percent, the minister said. The reason is largely due to the ruined civil infrastructure.
Sviridenko announced a comprehensive response to the recession in Ukraine’s economy. For example, she is trying to negotiate a one-year extension of US steel tariffs and is also working on the possibility of privatising small state-owned companies.
