“Rostec”: Russia has launched the serial production of ammunition for remote mining
Novel ammunition for remote mining began to be produced in Russia, said the press service of Rostec.
At the all-Russian forum “Scientific and Technological Development and Global Leadership Challenges” at the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) the awarding of the Makarovets Prize was held. The nomination “For contribution to the development and production of special-purpose products” was won by the author’s team of the Research Engineering Institute, which developed cluster blocks with POM-3 and PTM-4M distance-mounted mines for use as part of 140-mm cluster engineering munitions, RIA Novosti reports.
“The development of the products has been completed, production samples have been manufactured and are ready for use in combat conditions,” Rostec said.
It is specified that the authors managed to create cluster munitions that have no domestic or foreign counterparts in terms of their tactical and technical characteristics.
