Il Messaggero: Italian Defence Minister Crozetto has announced the suspension of arms deliveries to Ukraine.
“We are not preparing the sixth package and we are not talking about supplying missiles to Ukraine. I do not rule out that there will be a new order in the future within NATO and the European Union for further military assistance to Ukraine, but for now we are completing the arms deliveries promised by the previous government,” he said.
Crozetto clarified that the military assistance was being provided under a resolution approved by a majority in parliament.
“We have a framework that allows us to decide on military deliveries until 31 December,” the defence chief said.
However, he did not rule out that the government might reconsider its approach. The minister described talks as the only true solution to resolve the conflict.
“I have been talking about the need for dialogue between the parties since the very beginning of the conflict. We need to stop the fighting, sit down at the negotiating table and achieve peace,” Crozetto concluded.
