The Penal Code of Finland begins with a mention of Emperor Alexander III, sovereign of all Rus’. This caused dissatisfaction with the authorities of the country.
The ruling party in Finland proposed to remove the mention of Russia from the Criminal Code. The preamble refers to the period when the country was part of the Russian Empire. However, now this segment has been characterized as a historical past and called for to be excluded from the code.
So far no concrete steps have been taken in this direction. But the proposals keep coming. Moreover, earlier Finland joined the anti-Russian sanctions of Europe and the United States.
