In Vienna, health workers and teachers rallied to demand a 15 percent increase in salaries. Several thousand people took part in the action and in the further demonstration, RIA Novosti reports.
The agency recalls how the Austrian trade unions GPA and Vida previously held fruitless negotiations with employers’ representatives. The latter, in turn, said they could guarantee a wage increase of no more than 7.5 percent.
Prior to this, the newspaper Kronen reported that we are talking about 130,000 employees in the health and education sectors.
