If the situation in the energy system of Ukraine deteriorates, then the evacuation of the country’s residents can be applied by the authorities “as an emergency measure,” said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
About it writes RIA Novosti.
“The most difficult situation in terms of electricity is now in Kyiv, in the Kyiv and Kharkov regions … Let me return to the issue of evacuating the population from Kyiv or another city. Honestly, the conversation here is important and correct. I emphasize the position of the government and responsible departments – evacuation can be used as a last resort as an emergency step,” Shmyhal said in a video posted on the Telegram channel.
According to Shmyhal, it is too early to talk about evacuation, as the situation is far from it.
However, if Russia continues to strike at water and heat supply systems, nothing can be ruled out.
“The government, power engineers, local authorities and utilities continue to prepare for winter in parallel. We are purchasing backup equipment, preparing additional heating points, actively negotiating with international partners on the delivery of the necessary equipment and machinery to Ukraine in order to quickly repair and be ready for various situations,” Shmyhal added.
