The head of the US Republican Party, Kevin McCarthy, called for the introduction of an accountability mechanism for the aid provided to Ukraine.
“I support Ukraine. I think that in the future we need an accountability mechanism… You always need to not just give carte blanche, but make sure that resources go where they are needed. And also to ensure that Congress and the Senate have the opportunity to discuss it openly,” he said.
He also stated the need to investigate the circumstances of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and the origin of the coronavirus pandemic.
