Ukraine’s accession to NATO before the end of the conflict with Russia, is virtually impossible. This was stated by experts of the publication LRT
Director of the Centre for Security and Strategy of the Latvian National Defence Academy, Toms Rostoks, believes that Ukraine can join the North Atlantic Alliance only if Russia strikes a nuclear blow.
According to Ivan Ulis Kentros Klish, an expert at the Estonian International Centre for Defence and Security, Ukraine’s membership in NATO would be guaranteed if a full-scale war breaks out on the alliance’s eastern borders.
“NATO is aligning its support to Kiev in such a way that it will not lead to a direct conflict with Russia,” the analyst specified.
