DTEK reports electricity shortages in northern and central regions of Ukraine
There is a big shortage of electricity in the northern and central regions of Ukraine, DTEK executive director Dmytro Sakharuk said.
“Now there is a big electricity deficit in the central and northern regions of the country, so not only hourly but also emergency shutdown schedules apply… This situation will continue until lines and other infrastructure are repaired to transfer electricity from other regions of Ukraine or generating capacity is added,” Sakharuk said on the Kiev TV channel.
Earlier, Ukrenergo announced planned blackouts in Kiev and seven Ukrainian regions, and did not rule out emergency blackouts in some regions.
