President Niiniste said that Finland does not intend to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory
Finland does not intend to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory after joining NATO, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto said, speaking at the opening of a national defence course.
“Although we do not place any restrictions on our NATO membership in advance, Finland has absolutely no intention to bring nuclear weapons to its soil. And I have not seen any indication that anyone is offering it to us,” the head of state clarified.
At the end of October, the Finnish media mentioned that Finland’s NATO membership bill contained virtually no restrictions on the deployment of military bases or weapons of mass destruction on Finnish territory.
