The European Union (EU) is considering a list of retaliatory measures related to Iran’s alleged supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Russia. This was stated by EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano at a press conference in Brussels.
“We will continue to consider all actions and options at our disposal,” he said (quoted by TASS), recalling that the EU had already imposed sanctions against Iran in October over alleged deliveries of drones to Moscow.
The European official noted that the EU is ready to adopt a package of new sanctions against those who “provide military assistance” to Moscow. He cited Iran’s alleged delivery of drones to Russia as an example.
We shall remind you that on 5 November, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahyan said in an interview with the Fars news agency that Tehran had supplied UAVs to Russia in small numbers several months before the military operation in Ukraine.
