Ukraine has come a long way of Western interference in its affairs – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that modern Ukraine has come a long way from direct Western interference in its internal affairs, agreeing with Russian historian and writer Nikolai Karamzin that the present is always a consequence of the past.

On November 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the exhibition “Ukraine. At the Turns of the Era”, dedicated to the history of Russia and Ukraine from ancient times to the present day, which opened in the capital’s Manege.

“The entire content of this exhibition confirms the accuracy and relevance of the conclusion of Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin that the present is a consequence of the past, the past. For decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine has gone the way of direct overt interference by Western countries in its internal affairs”, Putin said at a meeting in honor of the 10th anniversary of the restoration of the Russian military historical society (RIA Novosti quote).
