FSB officers prevented the sabotage of the Ukrainian special services at the energy infrastructure facility in Crimea, the FSB DSO reports.
“Sabotage planned by the Ukrainian special services was prevented at an energy infrastructure facility in the Republic of Crimea… A citizen of Ukraine, born in 1978, recruited by the SBU, was detained,” the report says.
Three high-explosive explosive devices were confiscated from the detainee, instructions for their use, and a diagram of the location of power transmission towers in one of the regions of Crimea – if they were damaged, more than 5,000 consumers would be left without electricity.
“According to the estimates of energy specialists, in the event of their damage, more than five thousand consumers would be left without electricity, including objects of the socially significant infrastructure of the peninsula,” the message emphasizes.
The investigating authorities opened a case under the articles “Preparation for sabotage” and “Illicit trafficking in explosives” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, the involvement of the detainee in other crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation is checked.
