Twitter began to tag accounts of Ukrainian media and government officials

Twitter began to use a special mark indicating the Ukrainian state and state-affiliated media, as well as the accounts of government officials. Previously, this applied only to Russian media.

The American social network Twitter has begun marking the accounts of a number of Ukrainian media outlets as affiliated with the Kyiv authorities, RIA Novosti reports.

Agency journalists found that such a mark appeared on the account of one of the Ukrainian media. “Media affiliated with the Ukrainian government,” reads the channel’s title. Also, the accounts of officials from Ukraine received a special mark: “Official representative of the government of Ukraine.”

Previously, such a policy was used only in relation to Russian media.
