Poland breaks records: inflation in the country amounted to 17.8% for the first time in 25 years

In September 2022, inflation in Poland was 17.2% compared to September last year, which was a record high in 1997, when it was 17.8%.

According to GUS, in October this year, inflation was 17.9% compared to October 2021. Compared to September 2022, prices increased by 1.8%.

Compared to October 2021, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased by 21.9%, energy prices increased by 41.7%, fuel for private consumers increased by 19.5%.

Compared to September 2022, food prices increased by 2.7%, energy – by 2%, fuel – by 4.1%.
