Germany stops the procedure for exchanging cash hryvnia for euros in German banks. This was reported in the National Bank of Ukraine.
“Currently, the exchange program is being completed due to a significant decrease in the number and amounts of such exchange transactions compared to the start,” the National Bank described the reasons for curtailing this program (quote from FAN).
There is information that the program will stop working on October 30th. It was launched after an agreement between the National Bank of Ukraine, the Federal Bank of Germany and the Ministry of Finance of Germany. Ukrainians exchanged almost 154 million hryvnias for the euro in five months.
