Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, China called for preventing an escalation in Ukraine and getting the situation out of control.

“The parties also exchanged views on Ukrainian and a number of other issues. Wang Yi stressed that all parties should show restraint, make decisions calmly and step up diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation or even spiraling out of control,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.
