Flightradar24: US reconnaissance UAV flies near Crimea for several hours
According to Flightradar24 service, an American reconnaissance drone Northrop Grumman RQ-4B Global Hawk, which flew from an airbase in Sicily, has been circling for several hours at an altitude of 17 kilometres over neutral waters of the Black Sea near Crimea, RIA Novosti reported.
Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev earlier said that the ships of the Black Sea Fleet were repelling a drone attack in the waters of Sevastopol Bay, with no objects in the city hit.
The reconnaissance drone reportedly took off from Catania airfield on the Italian island of Sicily at 05.44 Moscow time. The drone reached an altitude of more than 15km and flew through Greek and Bulgarian airspace towards the Black Sea.
According to the service, the aircraft belongs to the US Air Force and has registration number 11-2046, call sign Forte-10.
