Ukrenergo said about possible forced blackouts during evening peak hours across Ukraine

State-owned energy company NEC “Ukrenergo” said that forced blackouts may be applied across Ukraine during Saturday evening peak due to increased load on the network

“This morning, Ukrenergo’s dispatch centre did not provide distribution system operators with volumes for emergency shutdowns of consumers. The warm weather and a day off contributed to this … prevented the threat of grid overloading and helped to balance the power system without forced restrictions for consumers. However, there is an evening consumption peak ahead, during which restrictions may be applied if necessary,” the company said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

The company urged all consumers to consciously reduce the use of powerful electrical appliances, especially in the evening – from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
