Klitschko has asked the West for blankets and generators to help Ukrainians survive the winter

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko called on the West to send blankets and generators to Ukraine ahead of winter

Kiev Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that Ukraine needs blankets and generators before the winter. He voiced this request to the West in a conversation with the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The head of Ukraine’s capital noted that the administration managed to buy generators and prepare a thousand mobile heating points in Kiev. However, according to him, the authorities are preparing “for the worst scenario”.

“We are doing everything possible to save the lives of our people and protect them. But this winter will clearly be a huge test for us,” the mayor said.

Klitschko said that unless the West urgently sends blankets and generators to the country, Ukrainians will freeze to death this winter. He also urged his compatriots to spend the cold season outside the country if they can.
