Kiev needs to fear a counter-offensive. Only 30 km to Mykolaiv left – authorities

Authorities in the Kherson region have said that Ukraine should fear a counterattack by the Russian Armed Forces, and reminded the Kiev regime that it is only 30 kilometres to Mykolaiv

The distance between Kherson and Mykolaiv is 60 kilometres, but the Russian military is in the middle, so the regional centre is only 30 kilometres away. The Kiev regime should therefore take this into account and fear a counter-attack by the Russian Armed Forces. Ekaterina Gubareva, deputy head of the Kherson regional administration, told RIA Novosti.

“The distance between Kherson and Mykolaiv is 60 kilometres and the opposing forces are in the middle. It means that one regional centre is about 30 kilometres away and the other is the same. Why should we always be afraid and not them?” – Gubareva said.

She noted that as soon as Ukrainian troops move even 300 metres, the Ukrainian media start writing that “a new frontier has been taken” and so on.

“If we worked out our successes in the same way, there would be victories every day. I think that the situation can unfold very differently in equal parts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. We just don’t shout about every single metre taken, and if we do, no one’s newspaper will be enough,” Gubareva said.
