The Polish Foreign Ministry, in a diplomatic note, published a complete list of requirements for Germany on the issue of compensation for damage caused to the country during the Second World War.
Among the requirements for the German side published by the Polish Foreign Ministry are:
- “compensation for material and non-material losses in the amount of PLN 6 trillion 220 billion 609 million”;
- “compensation for the victims of aggression and German occupation and their family members for the damage and harm caused to them”;
- “systemic actions of the Federal Republic of Germany, leading to the return of cultural property stolen from Poland, located on the territory of Germany.”
- “the return of assets and liabilities of Polish state-owned banks and credit institutions stolen by the German state in 1939-1945.”
As a result, the amount of Poland’s claims against Germany was announced as 6,220,609,000,000 złoty (about 1.3-1.5 trillion dollars).
The Polish authorities have repeatedly stated that they demand from Germany the payment of reparations in the amount of 6.2 trillion zlotys (about 1.3 trillion dollars) as reparations for the damage caused to the Polish side during the Second World War. In early October, a diplomatic note was sent to Germany through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The German government, in turn, has repeatedly stated that the issue of paying reparations to Poland is closed.
