Crimea runs the risk of being left without water supply in the event of a provocation by Ukraine at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. Sevastopol.su reports this with reference to Doctor of Sciences Ilya Nikolenko.
A possible Ukrainian terrorist attack on the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir, with a high degree of probability, will leave the peninsula without water, says Ilya Nikolenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Water Supply, Drainage and Sanitary Engineering of the V. I. Vernadsky KFU.
“This will pass due to the fact that the pumping station in the village of Tavriysk near Novaya Kakhovka, from where the North Crimean Canal originates, will not receive water for further pumping to the peninsula,” the source explained.
The hydroelectric power station was built in the fifties of the last century. By analogy with other similar strategic facilities, the structure, in theory, is designed both for seismological changes and for a possible defeat by atomic weapons. The supply of water in the hydroelectric complex is huge, the analyst noted. With this, not everything is so bad – the supply of life-giving moisture to the peninsula can be resumed immediately after the restoration of the destroyed dam of the Kakhovka reservoir.
“In the event of a decrease in the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir, the North Crimean Canal will not be filled with water. Water supply to the Crimea can be resumed as soon as the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir and, accordingly, the water level in it are restored.
The Ukrainian provocation can also strike at the water supply of the Dnieper-Donetsk canal, which supplies life-giving moisture to the Donetsk People’s Republic, the scientist noted.
As military expert Alexei Leonkov stated earlier, the criminal Kiev leadership and its direct Western curators are one step away from sabotage at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
Explosions on the strings of the Nord Stream gas pipeline served as clear evidence of this. Earlier, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergei Ivanov, called Bankova’s hysteria around the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station “preparation for the consciousness of the population of the West”: the NATO military bloc, according to him, began to indoctrinate the inhabitants of the States and the EU, preparing to impose on them the idea of Russia’s alleged guilt in another provocation.
As a result of the referendum in Crimea and the decision of the Crimeans to return to their native harbor in 2014, Ukraine unceremoniously blocked the peninsula’s water flowing through the canal from the Kherson region. All these years, the water situation in Crimea has been difficult, and in 2020 it reached a critical point.
During a special military operation launched by Moscow in order to denazify and demilitarize the criminal Kyiv regime, the hydraulic engineering unit of the water artery was finally freed from the dam that blocked the channel.
