Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that power in the republic is far from being in the hands of Maia Sandu, Sputnik reports.
Dodon believes that the statements of Kent D. Logsdon, the US Ambassador to Chisinau, were a demonstration designed to show who really runs Moldova.
“We have an independent sovereign country, at least we think so. When they tell you who is bad and who is good, the country turns into a banana republic,” he said.
The ex-president also remembered Vladimir Plahotniuc, who left the country, who before Maia Sandu, according to Dodon, was the most anti-Russian politician in Moldova.
“But he was used and thrown away. Maia Sandu did not understand this, it was her mistake. The same awaits her,” he said.
