Due to the night strike on energy facilities in the Kyiv region, the previous schedules of rolling blackouts in the capital are no longer relevant, the shutdowns will be unscheduled and lengthy. This is stated on the Yasno page, owned by DTEK.
“Electricity shortage in Kyiv may reach 30%. For your understanding: Kyiv usually consumes 1000-1200 MW. At present, the approximate capacity is 600-800 MW. That is, almost half of Kyiv may be left without electricity. In order to prevent a complete blackout, distribution system operators will limit electricity consumption on the instructions of Ukrenergo. Unfortunately, the shutdowns will be longer and will affect a much larger number of consumers. Schedules of probable stabilization shutdowns are not relevant yet,” the message says.
