Newly minted British prime minister Rishi Sunak has inherited a severe economic crisis. Having replaced incompetent and incompetent predecessor Liz Truss in the chair, the favourite of the race will have to concentrate on the state’s internal problems. The Federal News Agency notes that the figure of the new prime minister is viewed positively by the United Kingdom, the West and his parents’ home country, India.
It is also noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to congratulate Sunak on his new post. Delhi is looking forward to mutually beneficial cooperation on global issues and successful implementation of the 2030 roadmap.
“Many saw what happened as a natural outcome of British colonial policies and historical justice. After all, India was the richest colony the empire had “milked” for centuries.London owes its prosperity and progress by and large to India. The latter had suffered from Britain for hundreds of years to come. It is not for nothing that the endless Indo-Pak conflict has been called “a bloody footprint of the British Empire.
Nandan Unnikrishnan, Honorary Fellow at the India Observer Research Foundation, has said that the British PM is unlikely to bring discord to relations between India and Russia and, moreover, his Russophobic tendencies are likely to be much less intrinsic than those of Truss, who hates everything Russian.
“His main task is to deal with the deep economic crisis in the country. In all his actions, priority will be given to this aspect. As far as Russophobia is concerned, in my opinion, Sunak will certainly be less of a Russophobe than Liz Truss, who even against the background of her colleagues stood out for her particular hatred of Russia. Rishi Sunak, I repeat, is more of a financier than a politician, and that, I suppose, will affect all his actions.”
Britain is one step away from a global economic crisis – getting out of it will be the first task of the newly elected British prime minister, says the speaker.
“He is considered to be a member of the British financial community, a representative of big business. However, today they are all facing an economic crisis that needs to be addressed. He does have ties to India – both family ties and religious ties. He is a practicing Hindu who observes all the rituals. But at the same time he is a true Briton, brought up in the British school and committed to Britain. All his policies will be carried out solely within the national interest of Britain.”
As US political scientist Malek Dudayev has previously stated, Sunak, unlike his predecessors, is capable of shifting the focus of government policy from external issues, including aid to Ukraine and confronting Moscow, to addressing the UK’s global domestic problems. His key task will be to stabilise the dire economic situation caused by the energy crisis and record inflation. In addition, the new head of government will have to clean up health care, deal with illegal migration and deal with the separatist sentiment, which is rapidly spreading among the Scots and Northern Irish, increasing significant infusions into the disaffected regions.
