Japan, South Korea and US hold trilateral meeting on DPRK nuclear test

Foreign ministry officials from Japan, South Korea and the US have held a trilateral meeting on North Korea’s nuclear test, including the October 4 launch when a missile flew over Japanese territory, Yonhap.

Foreign ministers from Japan, South Korea and the United States held a trilateral meeting on North Korea’s nuclear tests. The South Korean president also vowed to respond “unprecedentedly” if North Korea launches another missile as part of a nuclear test.

“The sides are unanimous in their view that North Korea’s extremely high frequency of missile tests, including the October 4 launch when a missile flew over Japanese territory, is a serious and immediate threat to peace and stability in the region as well as a clear challenge to the entire international community,” the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a press release following the meeting (quoted by TASS).

After the latest test, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called the US and South Korea enemies and refused to engage in dialogue with them.
