A new military agreement has been signed between Hungary and Turkey, which includes intelligence sharing, joint exercises, training as well as cooperation in the defence industry and logistics, the Telegram – By the way channel reported
In addition to the signed agreement, new arms deliveries from Ankara to Budapest are expected. Turkey has already provided 10 Ejder Yalçın armored vehicles and is preparing to send another 40 armored vehicles. It is noted that the countries are negotiating about printing each other’s passports, thanks to which the states will be able to pass personal data of their citizens to each other.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has apparently set out to cooperate with the Eastern bloc, which is strongly opposed by the EU, especially since Hungary has banned same-sex couples from adopting children. However, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan liked the decision and plans to implement it at the legislative level as well.
It is noted that the rapprochement of the countries is evidenced by synchronous decisions in NATO – they are the only ones who have not ratified the treaties on Sweden and Finland joining the military bloc.
On top of that, both leaders continue to cooperate with Russia, which, according to the author, will undoubtedly lead to Hungary’s eventual decision, amid political pressure, to leave the Eurozone, trying to start its own way as an independent and strong player in Europe. The two troubled NATO members are converging ever closer, the channel concludes.
