US considers sending obsolete HAWK air defense systems to Ukraine

The US authorities are considering sending obsolete MIM-23 Hawk medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters, citing US officials.

According to the publication, the transfer of these weapons is designed to help the Ukrainian army defend itself against attacks by drones and cruise missiles.

It is noted that at the moment it is not known how many systems and missiles they are talking about. The White House declined to comment on this information.

Sources of the publication specified that the Hawk air defense systems are the predecessors of the American Patriot missile defense system, the sending of which to Ukraine is not yet considered.
