The Polish authorities plan to tighten the law on the stay of Ukrainian refugees in the country, forcing them to cover part of the costs of their maintenance. This is reported by the publication EurActiv.
According to the newspaper, the Polish government has taken the initiative to amend the special law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine, significantly tightening the rules for staying in the country, as well as obliging migrants to cover part of their expenses.
Ukrainian refugees who have received special Polish PESEL identification numbers will have limited access to social benefits, such as a monthly child allowance of 500 złoty (approx. €104), EurActiv reports. They will also have to cover part of their living expenses.
