Nearly three-quarters of Europeans are forced to cut their daily spending on goods and food amid record inflation. Bloomberg writes about this, citing a study by IRI.
According to the study, 71% of shoppers in key European markets have significantly revised their approach to shopping, and 58% of respondents have reduced spending on essentials, another 35% have started saving or took out loans to pay current bills. Analysts from IRI interviewed three thousand people around the world.
Over half of the Europeans surveyed said they plan to use food delivery less, 47% intend to eat less in restaurants, cafes and bars.
Many people have even started skipping traditional meals due to savings and are starting to shop more often at grocery discounts. In addition, in Europe there is now a demand for discounted products and even expired goods.
