The Canadian authorities may soon have difficulty replenishing stocks of weapons and military equipment previously transferred to Ukraine. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Brussels Svyazny”.
“Local [Canadian] military officials are worried about the M777 howitzers. They have long been out of production and therefore Ottawa will either have to look for some new options for itself, or try to buy them from other allies who still use these weapons systems. Both of these options do not satisfy the military. Ideally, they want the manufacturing plant to resume production of the M777. There are prerequisites for this, but so far everything is ambiguous”, the channel reports.
In addition, the Canadian side needs to replenish stocks of M72 LAW and Carl Gustaf M4 anti-tank grenade launchers, as well as engineering and other equipment, the material says. Already, the Canadian Department of Defense says that replenishment of these stocks can take two to four years. At the same time, not all replacement plans have been developed yet.
